The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has issued 526 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for permanent residence in Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #283, held on November 5, 2026.
This was the 22nd MPNP selection round of 2026. Most of the invitations went to Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidates who are currently working in Manitoba in natural resources, agriculture and related production or manufacturing and utilities occupations. A strategic recruitment selection under the Skilled Worker Stream made up the rest.
Draw Breakdown
| Selection | LAAs issued | Minimum ranking score |
|---|---|---|
| Skilled Worker in Manitoba — occupation-specific (Broad Occupational Categories 8 and 9) | 448 | Not published |
| Skilled Worker Stream — strategic recruitment | 78 | Not published |
| Total | 526 |
Of the 526 LAAs issued, 49 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Natural Resources, Agriculture and Manufacturing Workers Targeted
The main selection considered Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles that declared current employment in Manitoba in two broad occupational categories under the National Occupational Classification (NOC):
- Category 8 — Natural resources, agriculture and related production occupations
- Category 9 — Occupations in manufacturing and utilities
It issued 448 LAAs. Manitoba did not publish a minimum ranking score for this selection.
The focus is a change from recent rounds. Draw #282 on October 22 was built around Manitoba post-secondary graduates and overall top-scoring profiles, while Draw #281 on October 8 targeted education, childcare and health occupations.
The MPNP notes that candidates who said they work in a regulated occupation and are fully licensed in Manitoba were included in this draw. Applications may be refused from candidates who are not actually working in a regulated occupation or cannot prove they completed all required licensing steps. The province advises anyone in that position to consider declining their LAA.
Skilled Worker Stream — Strategic Recruitment
A further 78 LAAs went to profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas pathways that declared being directly invited by the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative. That is up from 57 in Draw #282.
| Strategic recruitment initiative | LAAs issued |

| Regional Communities | 30 |
| Employer Services | 20 |
| Francophone Community | 12 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 11 |

Manitoba Passes 9,000 Invitations for 2026
Draw #283 brings the MPNP’s 2026 total to 9,053 Letters of Advice to Apply across 22 rounds. Manitoba has now held a draw every second Thursday since early October, and has issued more than 3,000 LAAs since the start of September.
Why Some Eligible Candidates Were Not Invited
The MPNP notes that candidates who met the selection criteria but did not receive an LAA may have been passed over for one of two reasons:
- They indicated they had taken an approved third-party language test but did not provide a valid test number in their EOI, or the test result is no longer valid.
- They indicated they had received an Invitation to Apply under a strategic recruitment initiative but did not provide a valid invitation number.
Candidates in either situation can update their EOI to be considered in the next draw from the pool.
Full results are published on the Government of Manitoba website. A record of every 2026 round is kept on our Manitoba immigration draws page.
A Manitoba provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score under the federal Express Entry system, effectively guaranteeing an invitation to apply in a subsequent federal round.
