Rural Renewal Stream Leads With 210 Invitations
The Rural Renewal Stream accounted for 210 of the 425 invitations. The November 2 round invited 173 candidates at a minimum score of 51, the stream’s largest round since March 13, when 349 candidates were invited. The October 23 round invited 37 candidates at the same cut-off of 51.
Both rounds held the cut-off at 51, unchanged from the previous Rural Renewal round on September 24, which invited 131 candidates. The stream requires a job offer from an employer in a designated Alberta community and an endorsement from that community.
Alberta Opportunity Stream
The October 30 Alberta Opportunity Stream round invited 132 candidates at a minimum score of 59. That is five points higher than the stream’s previous round on October 2, which invited 123 candidates at 54.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream has the largest allocation of any AAIP stream, but it is now close to full. As of the November 4 update, Alberta reports 3,386 nominations issued against an allocation of 3,562, leaving 176 spaces.
Dedicated Health Care Pathway Rounds
The October 29 non-Express Entry round of the Dedicated Health Care Pathway invited 64 candidates at a minimum score of 50. It is the first round for this pathway since August 19, when 24 candidates were invited at a cut-off of 60.
The October 27 Express Entry round of the pathway invited 19 candidates at a minimum score of 60, the smallest Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry round of 2026. The previous round, on October 13, invited 53 candidates at 57.
Where Alberta’s 2026 Allocation Stands
As of the program’s November 4, 2026 update, Alberta had issued 6,108 nominations against a 2026 allocation of 6,603, leaving 495 nomination spaces for the rest of the year, with 756 applications still to be processed. At the October 21 update, the province had issued 5,831 nominations.
| Stream / Pathway | 2026 Allocation | Issued | Remaining |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 3,562 | 3,386 | 176 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,057 | 866 | 191 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Accelerated Tech Pathway | 619 | 596 | 23 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Priority sectors and other initiatives | 619 | 703 | See note below |
| Alberta Express Entry – Law Enforcement Pathway | 12 | Less than 10 | Not applicable |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways | 518 | 365 | 153 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 156 | 146 | 10 |
| Entrepreneur Streams | 60 | 39 | 21 |
Nominations under the Express Entry priority sector draws now exceed that pathway’s 619 allocation. Alberta notes that Express Entry allocations may be exceeded under a small administrative overage provided by the Government of Canada.
Additional Federal Spaces for Physicians and Francophones
Separately from the 6,603 allocation, Alberta has issued 50 nominations to practice-ready physicians and 12 to Francophone candidates under a federal initiative that makes up to 10,000 additional spaces available across all provincial nominee programs. Nominations issued under that initiative do not count against Alberta’s provincial allocation.
Alberta’s Expression of Interest Pool
The worker expression of interest pool now holds 32,211 profiles, down from 33,291 at the October 21 update.
| Stream or pathway of interest | Profiles in the selection pool |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 20,603 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Priority sectors and other initiatives | 4,581 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 2,846 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Accelerated Tech Pathway | 1,883 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,283 |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways | 976 |
| Alberta Express Entry – Law Enforcement Pathway | 39 |
| Total | 32,211 |
How AAIP Draws Work
AAIP draws are not held on a fixed schedule. The province conducts them as needed to address sector needs and provincial priorities, and it does not disclose recent draw parameters beyond the minimum score of invited candidates. Expression of interest score is not the only factor used in selection; the program considers a range of information provided in worker EOI profiles.
For 2026, the AAIP has said it will prioritise draws and nominations within its worker streams for occupations in health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream.
Alberta publishes each round on its AAIP processing information page. A full history of this year’s rounds is maintained on our Alberta immigration draws page. Our previous update covered the five AAIP draws held between October 9 and October 20.
Express Entry and the AAIP
Candidates nominated through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, or the Express Entry component of the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which in practice guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent federal Express Entry round.
Use our free CRS score calculator to estimate your Comprehensive Ranking System score and see how a provincial nomination would change your standing in the Express Entry pool.
