Alberta Issues At Least 380 Invitations Across Six Mid-September AAIP Draws

Alberta has issued at least 380 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination across six Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draws held between September 10 and September 23, 2026.

The rounds appeared together on the province’s AAIP processing information page, which is now marked last updated September 23. Five of the six draws were held under the Alberta Express Entry Stream, covering the manufacturing, agriculture and health care priority sectors as well as the Law Enforcement and Accelerated Tech pathways. The sixth was a smaller-than-usual Alberta Opportunity Stream round.

AAIP Draws — September 10 to 23, 2026

Alberta reports the Law Enforcement Pathway round only as “less than 10” invitations, so the exact total for the six draws is not published. The five rounds with published figures add up to 379.

Health Care Round Doubles in Size

The September 18 Priority Sectors (Health Care) round issued 100 invitations at a minimum score of 62. The previous health care priority sector round, on August 4, invited 50 candidates at a cut-off of 66, so this round doubled the volume while lowering the threshold by four points.

Manufacturing and Agriculture Rounds

The September 10 Priority Sectors (Manufacturing) round invited 48 candidates at a minimum score of 60. It was the first manufacturing round since June 15, when 56 candidates were invited at a cut-off of 50.

The September 15 Priority Sectors (Agriculture) round invited 18 candidates at a minimum score of 60, compared with 38 invitations at a cut-off of 55 in the August 7 agriculture round.

Tech, Law Enforcement and Alberta Opportunity Stream

The September 22 round under the Accelerated Tech Pathway issued 100 invitations at a minimum score of 59, one point lower than the September 3 round, which invited 96 candidates at 60. The pathway’s eligible occupation list includes roles supporting data centre development in Alberta.

The September 21 Law Enforcement Pathway round invited fewer than 10 candidates at a minimum score of 49, down from 52 in the July 10 round of the same pathway.

The September 23 Alberta Opportunity Stream round issued 113 invitations at a minimum score of 58. That is far smaller than the 575 invitations issued at a cut-off of 56 on September 1, and the smallest Alberta Opportunity Stream round of 2026 so far.

Where Alberta’s 2026 Allocation Stands

As of the program’s September 23, 2026 update, Alberta had issued 5,221 nominations against a 2026 allocation of 6,603, leaving 1,382 nomination spaces for the rest of the year, with 1,092 applications still to be processed. At the September 9 update, the province had issued 4,864 nominations.

The Alberta Express Entry priority sector pathway now has 48 nomination spaces left against an allocation of 619, and the Tourism and Hospitality Stream has 15 left against 156.

Additional Federal Spaces for Physicians and Francophones

Separately from the 6,603 allocation, Alberta has issued 50 nominations to practice-ready physicians and 12 to Francophone candidates under a federal initiative that makes up to 10,000 additional spaces available across all provincial nominee programs. Nominations issued under that initiative do not count against Alberta’s provincial allocation.

How AAIP Draws Work

AAIP draws are not held on a fixed schedule. The province conducts them as needed to address sector needs and provincial priorities, and it does not disclose recent draw parameters beyond the minimum score of invited candidates. Expression of interest score is not the only factor used in selection; the program considers a range of information provided in worker EOI profiles.

For 2026, the AAIP has said it will prioritise draws and nominations within its worker streams for occupations in health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream.

Express Entry and the AAIP

Candidates nominated through the Alberta Express Entry Stream receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which in practice guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent federal Express Entry round.
