Processing times for the Quebec Skilled Worker program are divided into two periods:
1. How long it takes for the province of Quebec to process the application for a Certificate of Selection of Quebec (CSQ).
Following a series of changes to the Quebec Skilled Worker program, the Quebec immigration authorities no longer publish the processing times under the regular skilled worker program.
However, for the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), the MIFI announced a target processing time of 6 months.
2. How long it takes for the federal government to process the permanent residence visa application, after the CSQ is received.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has a new way of processing applications meaning waiting times are no longer country or visa office-specific.
Instead, applications can be processed by any of the visa offices in Canada’s global network.
Therefore, IRCC publishes one global processing time, depending on when the application was submitted:
For applications that have already been received, processing times are estimated based on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past: 27 months.
For certain applications that have not been submitted yet, processing times are projected based on the number of applications waiting to be processed and how quickly they expect to process them: 15-17 months.
Processing times vary on many factors: the number of applications received, if the application is complete, how easily your information can be verified, etc.
If it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied, you should contact IRCC.
