This section provides information on the manner in which officers would need to process electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs). Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applicants typically submit electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs) on receiving the invitations to apply via Express Entry.
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs) are subject to the Express Entry six-month processing standard i.e. 80 percent of applications in six months or less.
The six month period commences when Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) confirms that a candidate has submitted a complete electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR) through the MyCIC account. The processing period concludes once the authorities make a final decision.
The authorities prescribed the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) class as a class of persons who:
- Are skilled workers
- Might become permanent residents based on their ability to become economically established in Canada and,
- Intend to reside in a province other than Quebec
