One of the key challenges of the immigration process is finding a job when you are outside Canada.

In the latest livestream video, immigration lawyer Colin Singer discusses how, despite your background, it is important to be broad mind in terms of the type of job you are looking for.
“You don’t have to exactly replicate your immigration application,” Singer says.
The NOC covers 347 occupations, but also many sub-occupations, making it important to keep all your options open when looking for work.
Singer goes on to discuss key elements of the application process, including how to structure your CV or resume, right down to creating the right impression with your email address.
Key advice like how to tailor your resume to each application can put you ahead of other applicants in the search for work.
Getting in touch with hiring employers, and what to say in that crucial phone call is also covered in this latest livestream video.
Visiting Canada and setting up meetings with employers could be the extra step you need to take to secure your Canada immigration dream.
Otherwise, attending job fairs held both in Canada or in your home country could be important.
The central message from Singer is that finding work may not happen overnight.
“It’s easy to get discouraged. You may not find a job on the very first go,” he says.
