British Columbia has issued a new round of invitations under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), targeting candidates expected to deliver strong economic benefits to the province.
On May 14, 2026, the BC PNP invited 437 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through targeted Skills Immigration draws under its Innovate: High Economic Impact category.
The invitations were issued under British Columbia’s “Care, Build, Innovate” framework, which restructured the program in April 2026 to direct provincial nominations toward workers and entrepreneurs most likely to meet the province’s economic and labour market needs. The May 14 round is the first BC PNP draw to fall under the Innovate core objective since the framework took effect.
Of the 437 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued, 225 went to candidates with a job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupations who meet a high compensation threshold. These candidates required a minimum wage of $59 per hour and an annual salary of at least $120,000. No minimum registration score applied to this group.
The remaining 212 invitations were issued to candidates with a minimum registration score of 135 points in the Skills Immigration Registration System.
As of May 6, 2026, the BC PNP Skills Immigration registration pool held 9,967 candidates. Invited candidates must submit a complete application through BC PNP Online within 30 calendar days.
British Columbia has confirmed that future high economic impact draws may rely on different selection criteria. The province advises applicants to review section 7.3(a) of the Skills Immigration Program Guide for further details on how these invitations are assessed.
The BC PNP also noted that invitations to apply are issued only to qualified registrations received before the date of the draw. Candidates can review earlier invitation rounds through the program’s official archives.
This draw reinforces British Columbia’s continued focus on attracting highly skilled workers and high-paying job offers that can support priority sectors and long-term economic growth in the province.
