2019-09-18 – British Columbia immigration has conducted a new draw, issuing invitations to apply to 481 candidates through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.
The September 17 draw saw minimum scores range between 77 and 101 points under five different BC PNP categories.
A minimum score of 77 points was recorded for the entry-level and semi-skilled stream.
B.C.’s director provincial stream for skilled workers recorded a minimum score of 92 points, while the Express Entry-linked skilled worker stream recorded a minimum score of 97 points.
Under the direct provincial international graduate stream, 97 point was also the minimum recorded score, while the Entry Entry-linked international graduate stream had a minimum score of 101 points.

The previous British Columbia immigration draw saw 57 invitations issued through the BC PNP Tech Pilot, providing expedited processing under existing BC PNP streams in 29 target occupations.
All four streams featured in the draw required a minimum score of 90 points. Those streams were:
- SI – Skilled Worker
- SI – International Graduate
- EEBC – Skilled Worker
- EEBC – International Graduate

The BC PNP Tech Pilot has been extended into 2020 after its initial launch in 2017. It currently has a list of 29 target occupations with relaxed duration requirements.
BC PNP draws aimed specifically at technology workers started in May 2017. The province has a thriving technology industry with some big names of the tech world basing themselves in Canada’s westernmost province.

A coveted provincial nomination effectively guarantees selection under the Canada Express Entry System, worth 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.
The B.C. PNP publishes the scores immigrants need to guarantee an invitation for Canada immigration under its programs.
The score needed for an international graduate is 30 points below a skilled worker under both the Canada Express Entry and provincial stream.
For entry-level and semi-skilled workers, that score is lower again.
