The most striking figure in the table is the business column: PEI has issued no Business Work Permit Entrepreneur invitations at all in 2026. Every invitation this year has gone to workers and graduates through the Labour Impact and Express Entry categories.
Who PEI Is Selecting
The province states that invitations in 2026 have been extended to individuals working in occupations and priority sectors identified by economic impact in Prince Edward Island, and that international graduates of the University of Prince Edward Island, Holland College and Collège de l’Île have been prioritised.
PEI does not publish a minimum points threshold for its Labour Impact and Express Entry rounds, so candidates cannot compare their score against a published cut-off the way they can in a federal Express Entry round. Selection instead turns on occupation, sector, employment in the province and education ties to the Island.
How the PEI PNP Expression of Interest System Works
Candidates submit an Expression of Interest profile to the PEI Office of Immigration rather than a full application. Profiles remain in the pool and are assessed against provincial labour-market priorities in each monthly draw.
