Alberta issued 82 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination across two Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) priority-sector draws held in the second half of July 2026, closing out the province’s busiest month of the year.
Both rounds were held under the Alberta Express Entry Stream’s priority sector pathway, which targets occupations Alberta has identified as critical to its labour market.
The larger of the two took place on July 21, 2026, when Alberta invited 53 candidates working in construction occupations at a minimum Expression of Interest score of 65. That is the highest cut-off score recorded in any AAIP construction round in 2026, above the 61 required in the May 20 draw and the 60 required on April 14.
Five days earlier, on July 16, the province held an agriculture-focused round, issuing 29 invitations at a minimum score of 56. Alberta has held three agriculture priority-sector draws in 2026, with cut-offs of 49 in February, 48 in May, 52 in June and 56 in July — a steadily rising threshold as the pool of eligible candidates has grown.
The two rounds bring Alberta’s July 2026 total to more than 1,240 invitations across eight draws, following the six rounds held between July 3 and July 15.

Where Alberta’s 2026 allocation stands
As of the program’s July 30, 2026 update, Alberta had issued 3,892 nominations against a 2026 allocation of 6,603, leaving 2,711 nomination spaces for the remainder of the year, with 1,585 applications still to be processed.
Within the Alberta Express Entry Stream, priority-sector draws and other initiatives are allocated 619 nominations, of which 420 had been issued, leaving 199 spaces. The pathway’s Expression of Interest pool held 4,963 profiles eligible for selection, out of a total worker EOI pool of 36,948.
AAIP draws are not held on a fixed schedule. The program conducts them as needed to address sector needs and provincial priorities, and does not disclose recent draw parameters beyond the minimum score and invitation count.
