But the top Canadian city for software developer salaries is actually Calgary, Alberta.
The most recent salary information shows a peak salary of $129,500 in Calgary, compared to $128,000 in Toronto and $127,500 in Vancouver.
The difference may only be $2,000, but it shows the broad range of cities where software developers can make good money.
Other cities with top software developer salaries in the $120,000 range include Ottawa ($127,700), Edmonton ($126,400) and Victoria (124,100).
The Kitchener-London-Guelph region, famous as home of the BlackBerry headquarters, tops out at $121,600.

Surprisingly, Montreal comes out further down the list with a peak salary of $105,600.
This is despite Montreal’s reputation as a technology-focused economy majoring on the gaming industry.
