Express Entry candidates bear the responsibility for ensuring that their Express Entry profile is accurate and updated at all times. The Global Case Management System (GCMS) automatically records the applicant’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score (refer to Appendix C) when:
- Provinces and territories (PTs) issue Invitations to Apply (ITAs) (refer to Appendix E) and,
- Applicants submit their Applications for Permanent Residence (APRs)
Some candidates might consider submitting electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs). These individuals would find that the system automatically transfers the information contained in their profiles into their electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs). The system does this purely as a convenience to the applicants.
In this scenario, the applicants would need to verify their information first. Only after completing this should they submit their electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs) to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). In some cases, the candidates could find that the information transferred by the system from their profiles is no longer accurate. Therefore, they would need to update the application accordingly with the latest and most accurate information.
When applicants submit their electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs) to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), the system locks the information given in the applications. In addition, the Global Case Management System (GCMS) also locks the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of the applicants when it records the application.
Processing offices carry the responsibility for assessing Express Entry applications on A11.2 and misrepresentation. Therefore, they would need to compare the information given in the applicant’s profile at the time of the draw to the information provided in the applicant’s electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR). This would enable them to determine whether the applicant meets the requirements of A11.2. It is worth noting that all differences do not necessarily result in a refusal of the application.
