Following the April 1 deadline for thousands of TFWs to leave the country, refugee and migrant support groups are bracing for an influx of “underground” migrants requiring assistance. Many TFWs don’t want to leave Canada, and may opt to remain in Canada illegally. Agencies that serve refugees and undocumented migrants have already seen a sharp rise in support requests.
