Prince Edward Island has issued invitations to apply to 59 skilled worker candidates who are seeking immigration to Canada as part of the latest provincial draw conducted by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
The draw took place on November 21 and targeted candidates under the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams. This initiative is part of PEI’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled workers to support its local economy.
The recent draw specifically selected candidates working in PEI in the Healthcare and Construction sectors.
In addition to Healthcare and Construction, the draw also focused on individuals with Work Permits expiring this year in Manufacturing.
By targeting these specific groups, Prince Edward Island aims to address immediate labor shortages and support key industries within the province. This strategic approach ensures that the selected candidates can seamlessly transition into the local workforce and contribute to the province’s economic growth.

PEI’s Express Entry category operates by considering candidates already in the federal Express Entry Pool for a provincial nomination.
Such a nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and effectively guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian immigration.
The PEI Express Entry Category features two pathways to Canadian permanent residence, one for candidates with a job offer and one for those without.
The Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category offers pathways to Canadian permanent residence through its Skilled Worker Stream and Critical Worker Stream.
For the Skilled Worker Stream, if you have a job offer from a PEI business and meet the following criteria, you could be eligible for permanent residence. You must have a full-time job offer in a TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation. Additionally, you need to have completed post-secondary education with at least 14 years of formal schooling. The eligible age range is between 21 and 55. You should have at least 2 years of full-time work experience within the last 5 years. Proficiency in English or French is required for the offered job, along with sufficient settlement funds and a genuine intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.
The Critical Worker Stream addresses labour shortages and is designed for foreign workers already in PEI who are employed in specific high-demand roles. To qualify, you need a full-time job offer from a PEI business in roles such as truck driver, customer service representative, labourer, food and beverage server, or housekeeping attendant. You must have at least 6 months of work experience with the PEI business offering the job and a valid Canadian work permit. A high school diploma with at least 12 years of formal education is required. The age range for eligibility is between 21 and 55. You should also have a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in the last 5 years, basic proficiency in English or French, enough settlement funds, and a genuine intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.
