Northern Ontario Draws Target Skilled Workers Across All Streams
Ontario issued a total of 973 invitations to candidates with job offers in Northern Ontario:
- 391 invitations through the Foreign Worker stream to candidates with scores of 56 and above
- 493 invitations through the International Student stream with scores of 54 and above
- 89 invitations under the In-Demand Skills stream for scores of 32 and above
This draw supported economic growth in key Northern communities such as Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and Timiskaming.
REDI Pilot Invites Over 800 Candidates
The Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot led to 843 invitations across all streams:
- 411 under the Foreign Worker stream with scores of 32 and above
- 363 under the International Student stream with scores of 60 and above
- 69 under the In-Demand Skills stream with scores of 23 and above
These invitations were issued to support smaller communities in attracting skilled talent to help address regional labour needs.
Health Occupations Draw Exceeds 1,500 Invitations
Ontario targeted health professionals across three streams, issuing a total of 1,564 invitations:
- 1,350 under the International Student stream with scores of 68 and above
- 214 under the In-Demand Skills stream with scores of 34 and above
Priority occupations included registered nurses, nurse aides, family doctors, and home support workers, reflecting growing healthcare workforce needs across Ontario.
Eastern Ontario Sees Focused Draw for Students
A draw targeting Eastern Ontario issued 334 invitations under the International Student stream to candidates with scores of 85 and above. This region includes cities and towns such as Ottawa, Peterborough, and Kingston.
Targeted Occupation Draw for Career Counsellors
Ontario issued 5 invitations through the Foreign Worker stream to candidates under NOC 41321 – Career Development Practitioners and Career Counsellors (Except Education). These applicants required a minimum score of 45.
