The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has held a major series of draws on February 2, 2026, issuing a total of 1,825 targeted invitations to apply.
The draws focused heavily on strengthening the province’s healthcare workforce, with significant invitations going to physicians, nurses, and early childhood educators. Additionally, the province utilized its Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot to target skilled workers for communities in Eastern Ontario.

Healthcare and Early Childhood Educators: 1,649 Invitations
The largest portion of the draw targeted candidates currently residing in Canada who work in priority health occupations or as early childhood educators. A total of 1,649 invitations were issued under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker and International Student streams.
To be eligible, candidates needed a job offer in specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes, including:
- NOC 31300: Nursing co-ordinators and supervisors
- NOC 31301: Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
- NOC 31302: Nurse practitioners
- NOC 31303: Physician assistants, midwives and allied health professionals
- NOC 32101: Licensed practical nurses
- NOC 33102: Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates
- NOC 42202: Early childhood educators and assistants
Minimum Score Requirements:
- Foreign Worker Stream: Score of 36 and above.
- International Student Stream: Score of 56 and above.
Physicians Invited
Ontario also issued 129 targeted invitations specifically to physicians under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream.
Candidates required a minimum score of 33 and a valid job offer in one of the following specialties:
- NOC 31100: Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine
- NOC 31101: Specialists in surgery
- NOC 31102: General practitioners and family physicians
Regional Economic Development (REDI) Pilot
Under the REDI pilot, Ontario invited 47 candidates destined for the Census Divisions of Lanark and Leeds and Grenville.
Invitations were distributed across three streams with varying score requirements and eligible occupations:
- Foreign Worker Stream (Score 44+): Targeted occupations included software engineers, registered nurses, and early childhood educators.
- International Student Stream (Score 69+): Targeted a wide range of roles including legal administrative assistants, graphic designers, and pharmacy technical assistants.
- In-Demand Skills Stream (Score 34+): Focused on trades and manufacturing roles such as material handlers, process control operators, and home support workers.
Important Application Deadlines
For candidates invited under the REDI and Healthcare/ECE categories, the OINP emphasizes the use of the Employer Portal.
- Employers must submit the application for the approval of an employment position within 14 calendar days of the invitation date.
- Applicants must submit their application and payment within 17 calendar days of the invitation date.
All eligible profiles for these draws must have been created and attested by January 28, 2026.
