Ontario Express Entry Draw For French Speakers Sees CRS Drop To 290

Ontario has invited Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System scores as low as 290 in a new draw through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.

On September 5, the province issued 86 invitations to candidates with CRS scores ranging between 290 and 393.

This draw considered profiles that had been created in the IRCC’s Express Entry system between September 5, 2023, and September 5, 2024. The draw was classified as a general draw, indicating that it was not targeted towards any specific occupation or skill set within the French-speaking skilled worker category.

To qualify, candidates needed work experience in TEER Category 0, 1, 2 or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

Candidates must have a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark 7 in French and 6 in English to qualify for the FSSW program.

This reflects Ontario’s ongoing commitment to attracting French-speaking skilled workers to meet the province’s labour market needs and support the vitality of its Francophone communities.

Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream Requirements

To qualify for the Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, applicants must meet several requirements. Firstly, they must have a pending application under the Federal Express Entry system. Additionally, they need to have a minimum of one year of full-time or full-time equivalent work experience under the NOC TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3.

Applicants are also required to have a Canadian equivalent Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or PhD. Language proficiency is another crucial criterion; candidates must achieve at least a CLB level 7 in the TEF exam for French and a minimum CLB level 6 in the IELTS exam for English.

Lastly, applicants must demonstrate their intention to reside in the Province of Ontario.
