Newfoundland and Labrador has issued 445 invitations to apply for provincial immigration programs in its largest selection round of 2026, more than seven times the size of the province’s previous round.
The Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism issued the invitations on July 28, 2026. Of the total, 400 went to candidates under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and 45 under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
The round matches the March 6, 2026 draw as the largest of the year and reverses a months-long decline in invitation volumes. The province’s previous round, held on July 10, issued just 57 invitations — the smallest of 2026 — and was itself preceded by rounds of 108 in June and 103 in late May.
The 400 NLPNP invitations are the highest single-round total the province has issued under the program since it moved to an Expression of Interest model in February 2025.
The July 28 round brings Newfoundland and Labrador’s 2026 year-to-date total to 1,989 invitations across nine rounds — 1,663 under the NLPNP and 326 under the AIP.

How Newfoundland and Labrador selects candidates
Since February 19, 2025, all economic immigration applications to Newfoundland and Labrador have run through an Expression of Interest model. Candidates submit an EOI profile, and the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism reviews the pool and issues Invitations to Apply in batches throughout the year rather than on a fixed schedule.
Selection is guided by published EOI prioritization criteria. The province does not publish a minimum score for each round.
