August 27, 2018 – Ontario immigration has announced details of two more Express Entry draws targeting candidates for its French Speaking Skilled Worker stream.
The province conducted draws on August 16 and 30, issuing notifications of interest to 46 candidates.
There have now been 977 candidates issued with NOIs under the FSSW stream since the start of 2018.

Ontario sets no minimum points requirement for the FSSW stream, for which candidates need a Canadian Language Benchmark of 7 for French and 6 for English.
They also need a Canadian-equivalent post-secondary degree and one year of work experience.

What Are The Requirements For The Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream?
To qualify applicants must have:
- Pending application under the Federal Express Entry system;
- Minimum of 1-year of full time, or full time equivalent work experience under NOC occupation level 0, A or B;
- Canadian equivalent Bachelors degree, Masters degree or PhD;
- Minimum CLB level 7 in TEF exam (French); AND minimum CLB 6 in IELTS exam (English)
- Intention to reside in the Province of Ontario.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) began publishing information about specific draws at the beginning of 2018.
There have now been 28 French Speaking Skilled Worker draws in 2018.
Ontario has also conducted several Human Capital Priorities, Skilled Trades and Entrepreneur Stream draws this year.

The OINP has received an increased federal government allocation for 2018 of 6,600 nominations, up 600 on the number for 2017.
The province is currently accepting applications for all but one of its immigration streams.
