Feb 22, 2018 – The New Brunswick immigration office has announced the closure of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) Skilled Worker with Family Support stream, effective February 16, 2018.

New Brunswick’s Entrepreneurial Stream A Good Option For Business Candidates
The province did not say if or when the stream will be re-opened for applications.
The Family Support stream is aimed at applicants who have a close relative already living in New Brunswick, plus the required work experience, education and settlement funds.
New Brunswick Family Support Stream
To submit an application under this category, candidates must:
- Have a close relative in who lives in New Brunswick;
- Have at least 2 years of continuous work experience in intended occupation in New Brunswick;
- Have the educational requirements needed to fulfil job duties in intended occupation;
- Have sufficient funds to settle in New Brunswick;
- Be willing to sign an agreement to settle permanently in New Brunswick.
The close relative in Canada must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be operating a business in New Brunswick or been employed in New Brunswick for at least 12 consecutive months;
- Be financially self supporting.
Meanwhile the New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream is currently accepting applications from candidates with a job offer, or those with French as a first language who also have experience in targeted occupations.
The province briefly opened the stream to applicants without a job offer on January 30, 2018, but quickly closed it again.

New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream: Criteria
To submit an application under this category, candidates must:
- Meet all eligibility criteria and selection factors for the Federal Skilled Worker Program(obtaining at least 67 points out of 100).
- Be aged between 21 and 55.
- Score Canadian Language Benchmark 7 for English or French in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
- Have minimum secondary school education, either obtained in Canada or assessed by a designated body if obtained outside Canada.
- Have at least one year work experience in National Occupational Classification 0, A or B.
- Sign a commitment to live and work in New Brunswick.
- Provide proof of minimum funds required by the federal government to establish successfully in New Brunswick.
- Where an application is backed by a job offer, the New Brunswick company must have been operating for at least one year at the time the application is received.
