The Process for Applicants Who Have Multiple Applications in Process
Processing offices could come across applicants who:
- Submitted an Application for Permanent Residence (APR) prior to the launch of Express Entry i.e. before January 01, 2015 and,
- Submitted an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR) via the Express Entry system i.e. on or after January 01, 2015
It is worth noting that foreign nationals can apply for multiple immigration programs at the same time. However, they would need to pay the mandated cost recovery fees for each program to which they applied (refer to Section A given subsequently in this document).
Situations could arise where the applicants receive the acceptance from more than one program. In this scenario, the applicant would need to choose the program under which they would receive their permanent residence status.
