Manitoba has conducted a new Expression of Interest draw through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, issuing a total of 911 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Skilled Worker Stream. The September 18 draw targeted candidates who had submitted profiles under either the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas pathways and who had been directly invited by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) through a strategic recruitment initiative.
The majority of LAAs – 847 – were issued under the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates. This policy allows eligible foreign workers already in Manitoba to apply for a provincial nomination while holding a temporary work permit.
The remaining invitations were distributed as follows:
- Employer Services: 18 LAAs
- Francophone Community: 24 LAAs
- Regional Communities: 18 LAAs
- Ethnocultural Communities: 4 LAAs
Of the 911 total invitations, 341 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, making them eligible to receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if nominated.
This draw reflects Manitoba’s ongoing commitment to addressing labour shortages by selecting skilled workers through a combination of provincial strategic initiatives and federal Express Entry alignment.
