British Columbia has issued at least 429 invitations to apply under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) in a sector-targeted round held on September 10, 2026, with the health care cut-off falling to its lowest level of the year.
The draws covered four Skills Immigration categories: childcare, health care, veterinary care and construction trades. It is the province’s first sector round since August 6, 2026.
Care: Childcare was the largest single category, issuing 182 invitations to early childhood educators at a minimum registration score of 99. Care: Health followed with 143 invitations across all priority health care occupations at a minimum score of 76.
Build: Construction Trades issued 104 invitations to candidates in all priority construction occupations at a minimum score of 94. Fewer than five invitations were issued under Care: Veterinary Care, to animal health technologists and veterinary technicians (NOC 32104) holding a valid professional designation, at a minimum score of 90.

Health Care Cut-Off Falls to a 2026 Low
The clearest movement in this round is in health care. The Care: Health minimum score dropped from 84 on August 6 to 76 on September 10, the lowest threshold recorded in a Care: Health round in 2026, while the number of invitations rose from 124 to 143.
Childcare moved in the same direction, though less sharply: the cut-off eased from 102 to 99, with the volume essentially unchanged at 182 invitations against 183 in August.
Construction trades went the other way. The Build: Construction Trades minimum score rose from 88 to 94 and invitations fell from 187 to 104 — the smallest construction round since the category was reorganised in April 2026. Veterinary care also tightened, from 72 to 90, with fewer than five invitations issued.
Care: Education did not appear in the September 10 round, having returned briefly on August 6 after an absence since May 6.

British Columbia’s Registration Pool
The BC PNP Skills Immigration registration pool held 8,013 registrations as of September 1, 2026, the most recent snapshot published by the province — down from 8,306 on August 4.
The bulk of that pool sits in the score bands the Care and Build categories now reach into: 1,559 registrations score between 100 and 109, 1,444 between 90 and 99, and 1,236 between 80 and 89. With the health care threshold at 76, roughly half the registration pool is now within range of a Care: Health invitation.
How the Care, Build, Innovate Framework Works
The invitations were issued under British Columbia’s “Care, Build, Innovate” framework, which restructured the Skills Immigration program in April 2026 to direct provincial nominations toward roles the province considers critical to its labour market and public services. Care and Build rounds target named health care, childcare, education, veterinary and construction occupations; Innovate rounds target economic impact through wage levels and registration scores.
The BC PNP issues invitations only to qualified registrations submitted before the date of the draw. Invited candidates must submit a complete application through BC PNP Online within the timeframe set out in their invitation.
The province publishes each round on its Invitations to Apply page. A full history of this year’s rounds is maintained on our British Columbia immigration draws page.
A provincial nomination through the BC PNP is worth 600 additional points under the federal Comprehensive Ranking System, which in practice guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry round.
With the Care: Health cut-off down to 76, candidates scoring in the high 70s and 80s in British Columbia’s registration pool are now within reach of an invitation in the province’s health care category.
