Alberta issued more than 1,160 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination across six Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) draws held between July 3 and July 15, 2026. The rounds covered the Alberta Opportunity Stream, both Dedicated Health Care Pathways, the Rural Renewal Stream, and the Alberta Express Entry Stream’s Accelerated Tech and Law Enforcement pathways.
The largest round of the batch was the July 15 Alberta Opportunity Stream draw, which issued 833 invitations to candidates scoring at least 53. It was the province’s fourth Alberta Opportunity Stream round of 2026 and the biggest since the 993-invitation draw held on May 27.
The Accelerated Tech Pathway draw on July 8 invited 149 candidates with a minimum score of 55, while the July 3 Dedicated Health Care Pathway draw for Express Entry candidates issued 92 invitations at the same cut-off. Alberta also held a small Law Enforcement Pathway round on July 10, issuing fewer than 10 invitations at a minimum score of 52 — the province does not publish exact counts for rounds under 10.

Where Alberta’s 2026 allocation stands
Alberta has a nomination allocation of 6,403 for 2026. As of the program’s July 15, 2026 update, the province had issued 3,520 nominations, leaving 2,883 nomination spaces remaining for the rest of the year, with 1,575 applications still to be processed.
Allocations are distributed across streams. The Alberta Opportunity Stream holds the largest share at 3,425 nominations, of which 1,859 had been issued. The Rural Renewal Stream has 1,000 nominations with 597 issued, and the Dedicated Health Care Pathways have 500 with 187 issued. Within the Alberta Express Entry Stream, the Accelerated Tech Pathway is allocated 600 nominations (347 issued) and priority-sector draws another 600 (376 issued).
Nominations issued in 2026 to practice-ready physicians or Francophone candidates who meet federal criteria do not count against Alberta’s 6,403 allocation. These come from a separate pool of up to 10,000 federal spaces shared across all provincial nominee programs. Alberta had issued 50 physician nominations and 12 Francophone nominations under that initiative.
Alberta’s 2026 priorities and EOI pool
In 2026, the AAIP is prioritizing draws and nominations within its worker streams for occupations in key sectors including health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, and agriculture, as well as communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream. AAIP draws are not held on a fixed schedule; they are conducted as needed to address sector needs and provincial priorities.
The Worker Expression of Interest (EOI) pool held 36,760 profiles eligible for selection. The Alberta Opportunity Stream accounts for the bulk of it with 22,913 EOIs, followed by the Alberta Express Entry Stream’s priority-sector pathway with 4,932, the Tourism and Hospitality Stream with 3,637, the Accelerated Tech Pathway with 2,116, the Rural Renewal Stream with 1,808, and the Dedicated Health Care Pathways with 1,298.
Alberta notes that an EOI score is not the only factor it considers when selecting candidates. The program weighs a range of information provided in each EOI to meet its priorities, and it does not disclose recent draw parameters. How to check where you stand
Candidates hoping to receive an invitation through the Alberta Express Entry Stream — including the Accelerated Tech, Law Enforcement, and priority-sector pathways, plus the Express Entry route of the Dedicated Health Care Pathway — must first have an active profile in the federal Express Entry pool. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which in practice guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent federal round.
The lowest provincial score invited in this batch of draws was 52, in the July 10 Law Enforcement Pathway and July 14 Dedicated Health Care Pathway rounds.
