The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has released details of four targeted draws conducted between May 22 and June 3, 2025. A total of 92 candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination under streams aligned with Alberta’s priority labour market needs.
June 3, 2025 – Dedicated Health Care Pathway Draw
The most recent draw focused on health care professionals through the Express Entry-aligned Dedicated Health Care Pathway. Alberta issued 36 invitations to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 60. This pathway is designed to attract skilled health workers who can help address ongoing shortages in Alberta’s health care system.
May 29, 2025 – Agriculture Sector Targeted Draw
On May 29, 14 invitations were issued under the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors initiative, specifically targeting candidates in the agriculture sector. The minimum CRS score for this draw was 64. Alberta continues to prioritise workers in farming, agri-food production, and related roles due to the importance of this sector to the province’s economy.
May 28, 2025 – Construction Sector Targeted Draw
The day before, on May 28, Alberta held a draw targeting the construction sector. A total of 20 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates under the Priority Sectors initiative, with a minimum CRS score of 67. This draw supports Alberta’s goal of addressing labour shortages in infrastructure development and skilled trades.
May 22, 2025 – Accelerated Tech Pathway Draw
Earlier in the month, Alberta issued 22 invitations under the Accelerated Tech Pathway, a fast-tracked route for tech professionals within the Alberta Express Entry Stream. Candidates required a minimum CRS score of 69. The tech industry remains a key economic driver in Alberta, and this pathway aims to attract high-demand professionals in fields such as software development, data analysis, and IT systems management.
These draws reflect Alberta’s strategic use of its provincial nominee program to respond to sector-specific labour needs and support long-term economic growth.
