June 12, 2017 – This is the list of Global Talent Stream jobs for which Canadian employers have access to a Canada work permit inside two weeks.
The highly-anticipated GTS was launched on June 12, 2017, giving Canadian companies the fastest and most flexible access to highly-skilled talent they have ever had. The stream became available in Quebec on September 11, 2017.
GTS is split into two categories, with Category B featuring a Global Talent Occupations List, containing the types of jobs Canada’s technology industry is desperate to fill to facilitate growth.
Put simply, if you are qualified in one of the jobs below, Canada wants you.

Employers requiring foreign workers not covered in the above list can still qualify under Category A of the Global Talent Stream.
Category A requires a referral from a designated partner of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), the department responsible for the Global Talent Stream.

Under Category A, foreign workers must possess a unique and specialized talent to qualify for a Canada work permit, defined as:
- Advanced knowledge of the industry.
- Highly paid position with a salary of usually $80,000 or more.
EITHER
- Advanced degree in an area of specialization of interest to the employer
OR
- Minimum of five years of experience in the field of specialized experience.
