British Columbia has issued 283 invitations to apply, plus fewer than five more in veterinary care, under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) in an October 8, 2026 Skills Immigration draw targeting childcare, health care, veterinary care and construction workers.
The draw was held under the Care and Build categories of British Columbia’s “Care, Build, Innovate” framework, which directs provincial nominations toward named occupations the province considers critical to its labour market and public services.
The largest selection went to Build: Construction Trades, which issued 115 invitations to candidates in priority construction occupations at a minimum score of 94. It was the only one of the four selections to grow compared with the previous Care and Build round on September 10.
The Care: Childcare selection invited 86 early childhood educators at a minimum score of 99, and the Care: Health selection invited 82 candidates in priority health care occupations at a minimum score of 76. A Care: Veterinary Care selection invited fewer than five animal health technologists and veterinary technicians (NOC 32104) with a valid professional designation, at a minimum score of 86.

British Columbia’s Registration Pool
The BC PNP Skills Immigration registration pool held 7,695 registrations as of October 6, 2026, down from 8,013 at the start of September. The province publishes the pool by score range only, not by occupation, so it is not possible to tell how many registrants were eligible for each Care or Build category.
The BC PNP issues invitations only to qualified registrations received before the date of the draw. Invited candidates must submit a complete application through BC PNP Online within the timeframe set out in their invitation.
A provincial nomination through the BC PNP is worth 600 additional points under the federal Comprehensive Ranking System, which in practice guarantees an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry round.
Official draw details are published by the province on WelcomeBC. For a full record of this year’s rounds, see our British Columbia immigration draws page.
