To support our content creation, marketing, and operational expenses, Immigration.ca generates revenue through advertising, sponsorships, and lead generation.
- Advertising and sponsorship: We sell ad space, including display ads, videos, and sponsored content, on Immigration.ca and on other channels that we own and operate. Our goal is to present relevant ads that provide products and services that may interest our users.
- Lead generation: Some content includes hyperlinks marked with an asterisk (*), directing users to an advertiser’s website for more information and to sign up or possibly make a purchase. These links are monetized, enabling Immigration.ca to earn referral fees. These fees do not affect the user experience or the cost of the product or service, and gives the user an identical – or better – deal than going directly to the advertiser.
Content Integrity
Immigration.ca publishes both editorial and paid content. Here’s how we maintain integrity:
- Editorial content: Advertisers and partners have no influence over our editorial content. Our articles, including when we mention product and services, are created independently and are unbiased. We may add monetized links post-publication to support our website, but these links do not affect our editorial decisions. We may also add paid branding to editorial content post-publication through “presented by” partnerships. These partners provide financial support to keep our content free. Their name, logo, and link appear at the top of the article, but they have no influence on the content itself.
Content Labels
All content on Immigration.ca is clearly labeled:
- Editorial articles: Purely editorial articles are tagged by topic (eg, Start-Up Visa Program, Canada Study Permit) and have no paid partnership involvement.
- Sponsored articles: These are paid posts that may feature a client’s product or service. They are written, edited, and produced by Immigration.ca with approval from the client.
- Partner content: These posts are written by the client and may be edited by Immigration.ca.
- Presented by: These editorial articles or content packages receive financial support from an advertiser but are created independently by our editorial team.
