Navigating Manitoba’s immigration streams can be complex, but here’s a breakdown to help you understand your eligibility:
Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM)
If you’re currently working in Manitoba or have a job offer from a Manitoba employer, SWM might be your ticket to Canadian permanent residence. There are two pathways:
a) Manitoba Work Experience Pathway: Open to those already working in Manitoba on temporary permits or as international graduates, regardless of whether your occupation is in demand.
b) Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway: Tailored for individuals with job offers from approved Manitoba employers while residing overseas.
Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO)
Designed for skilled workers abroad, SWO offers two routes:
a) Manitoba Express Entry Pathway: For those eligible under another MPNP stream and meet Express Entry criteria, with skills in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations and close family ties to the province.
b) Human Capital Pathway: Targets skilled workers abroad with experience in In-Demand Occupations, emphasizing their potential to secure employment in Manitoba upon arrival.
International Education Stream (IES)
Dedicated to graduates from Manitoba’s educational institutions, IES offers three pathways:
- Career Employment Pathway: Requires completion of a qualifying program from a Manitoba institution and a job offer in an In-Demand Occupation, with residency in Manitoba.
- Graduate Internship Pathway: Available to Masters and Doctoral graduates who’ve completed internships through Mitacs Accelerate or Elevate, even without a job offer.
- Student Entrepreneur Pathway: For graduates who’ve completed a program in Manitoba, operated a business in the province for six months post-graduation, and reside in Manitoba, with no specific net worth requirement.
Understanding these pathways can streamline your journey towards Manitoba’s welcoming communities and promising opportunities.
