With Canada’s overhaul of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is to align with a new system to categorize jobs.
On Tuesday, Ontario’s Ministry Of Labour, Immigration, Training And Skills Development announced changes to the Ontario Immigration Act that defines the OINP eligibility requirements.
“The proposed amendments would align the OINP with the new National Occupational Classification 2021 system that is already in use by Employment and Social Development Canada and Statistics Canada as their official classification system,” explained the province in an update on its website.
