British Columbia has invited nearly 200 new immigrants to apply for its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
The province issued 194 invitations under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry streams on Thursday, June 2.
The Skills Immigration invitations went to entry level and semi-skilled candidates, while the Express Entry invitations were for international graduates.
B.C.`s economy is currently the top performing of all the provinces, with the lowest unemployment anywhere in Canada.

Stipulations for B.C. Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Provincial Nominee Program
- Job offer in a qualifying occupation in:
- Tourism/hospitality
- Long-haul trucking
- Food processing
- Worked full time for B.C. employer making the offer for at least nine consecutive months
- 12 years of formal education
- Meet regulatory or licensing requirements
- Basic proficiency in one of Canada’s official languages
- Have ability to become economically established in B.C.
International Graduates: Qualifying Masters or PhD Degree Subject Areas
- Agriculture
- Biological and biomedical sciences
- Computer and information sciences and support services
- Engineering
- Engineering technology
- Health professions and related clinical sciences
- Mathematics and statistics
- Natural resources conservation and research
- Physical sciences
