The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) has issued a total of 477 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in two separate draws held between April 7 and April 9, 2025. The invitations targeted candidates under both the Express Entry and Skilled Worker streams, with a focus on priority sectors and individuals already contributing to the province’s workforce.
April 9 Draw: Express Entry Stream
On April 9, 2025, the province invited 45 candidates through the NB Express Entry Stream – Employment in New Brunswick. This draw was exclusively for candidates who have been working full-time for a New Brunswick employer for at least 12 consecutive months, while legally authorised to work in Canada.
Occupational categories targeted in this draw included:
- Healthcare
- Education and Social & Community Services
- Construction Trades
This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system and helps the province select high-skilled workers who are already making a contribution to the local labour market.

April 7–8 Draws: Skilled Worker Stream
In a larger draw held over April 7 and April 8, 2025, New Brunswick issued 432 invitations under two streams:
- NB Skilled Worker Stream – New Brunswick Experience
- NB Skilled Worker Stream – New Brunswick Graduates
This draw focused on a wide range of occupations. However, for most sectors, only candidates whose work permits are expiring in 2025 were eligible. Exceptions were made for those working in:
- Healthcare
- Education and Social & Community Services
- Construction Trades
These critical sectors did not require work permits to be expiring in 2025, underlining their importance to the provincial economy and public services.
Other occupational categories targeted included:
- Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Forestry
- Information Technology (IT)
- Transportation
- Manufacturing
- Professional Occupations (limited to NOC 1000- and 2000-levels, within TEER 0, 1, and 2 of the National Occupation Classification)
