PLEASE NOTE: The New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream has closed to applicants without a job offer since this article was published. The province is now only accepting applications from candidates with a job offer, or those with French as a first language who also have experience in the occupations outlined below.
January 30, 2018 – The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program temporarily opened its Express Entry Labour Market Stream to Expressions of Interest from candidates in specific priority occupations on January 30, 2018.
Applicants must have attended an information session in the last two years for the Canada Express Entry EOI to be accepted.
The priority occupations are:
NOC code | Job description |
2171 | Information systems analysts and consultants |
2281 | Computer network technician |
2173 | Software engineers and designers |
2172 | Database analysts and data administrators |
2174 | Computer programmers and interactive media developers |
6322 | Cooks |
0631 | Restaurant and food service managers |
1311 | Accounting technicians and bookkeepers |
0311 | Managers in health care |
6211 | Retail sales supervisors |
Candidates who submit an EOI should include in the subject line the location and date of the information session they attended, as well as their job title and NOC code. Failure to do so will mean the EOI is not considered.
Those submitting an EOI must also meet all the criteria of the New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream.
New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream: Criteria

A provincial statement said: “To submit an EOI, you must meet all New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream criteria, including a valid and current language exam, an educational credential assessment, sufficient funds, relevant work experience, and all other criteria.
“Once the provincial quota has been reached, we will close the temporary opening to new EOIs.
“You must include the following in the subject line of your email: location and date of the information session you attended; and your job title and NOC code.
“Failure to include this information will result in your EOI not being considered.
“After the temporary opening is closed, we will only be accepting EOIs from individuals currently working in New Brunswick or individuals with a job offer from a New Brunswick company.”

The province also specifically stated that candidates in occupations requiring a license or certificate to practice will face additional steps before being allowed to work.
It also warned that Post-Graduate Work Permit holders are not exempt from requiring settlement funds under the Express Entry system.
The opening of the stream does not affect the categories that continually remain open in New Brunswick, which are for those with secured job offers and those with French as a first language.
