Medical Examination Confirmation for electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs)
Purpose: To assess the health of the applicant and the applicant’s family members
Document Requirements:
- Applicants need to submit the medical examination confirmation upfront at the time of application
- Applicants would need to include the Immigration Medical Examination (IME) number in their electronic Applications for Permanent Residence (e-APRs)
- Applicants would need to provide copies of:
- The information printout sheet or,
- The Upfront Medical Report form (IMM 1017B)
- Applicants would obtain one of these from the panel physician upon completion of the medical examination
- The authorities would only make exceptions in rare circumstances e.g. upon the cancellation of the appointment by the panel physician at the last minute without giving any time for rescheduling the test
- In exceptional circumstances, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) could accept:
- Proof of scheduling of a medical appointment or,
- A letter of explanation of best efforts (which is certainly not a guarantee of acceptance)
The Individuals who would need to submit this documentation:
- The principal applicant
- Their spouse or common-law partner
- Their dependent children, including non-accompanying
