Situations could arise where officers would need to rely on handwritten notes. This is especially so in cases where a computer or the Global Case Management System (GCMS) is unavailable. In this scenario, officers would need to date, sign and keep all handwritten interview notes in the paper file. This is applicable even after the officers enter the details into the Global Case Management System (GCMS). In addition, the officers would need to indicate that they created the notes in question contemporaneously during the interview.
