Alberta has revealed the details of a new draw through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), issuing 588 invitations to apply.
The December 23 draw was for Alberta Opportunity Stream candidates and required a minimum score of 55. The specific requirements are below.
Alberta Draw Details
- Stream and Parameters: This draw targeted the Alberta Opportunity Stream under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Specific parameters included:
- Applicants with valid, eligible work permits (excluding Post-Graduation Work Permits).
- Work permits expiring no earlier than December 31, 2025.
- Completion of at least high school education equivalent to Canadian standards.
- Proficiency in English or French at a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) level 4 or higher.
- Minimum 12 months of work experience.
- Work experience in Alberta.
- A job offer for full-time employment in Alberta, excluding:
- Ineligible occupations under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
- Occupations within NOC broad categories 1 (Business, finance, and administration occupations) and 6 (Sales and service occupations).
- Minimum Score: 55.
- Number of Invitations Issued: 588.
Alberta nominated 9,943 candidates in 2024 after receiving an initial allocation of 9,750.
In 2023, Alberta issued 10,029 nominations, utilizing a “federally authorized administration buffer” to go over its allocation, which was also 9,750.
