Canada Start-up Business Class is a part of Canada Business Immigration Program. Its principles complement the existing Business Immigration Program. In addition, its principles continue to adhere to the objectives of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
Canada Start-up Business Class pilot program aims to:
- Test the potential for increasing economic benefits to Canada by linking foreign entrepreneurs with Canadian private sector partners who have the relevant experience and expertise in dealing with start-up businesses
- These Canadian private sector partners could typically include:
- Venture capital funds
- Angel investor groups and,
- Business incubators
- These Canadian private sector partners could typically include:
- Enable immigrant entrepreneurs to create jobs in Canada and to build innovative companies that can compete on a global scale and,
- Provide private sector firms with access to a broader range of entrepreneurs, including some of the best and brightest minds from around the world
