The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will automatically withdraw Expressions of Interest (EOIs) under three Employer Job Offer streams this weekend, in preparation for the launch of its new digital Employer Portal on July 2, 2025. The move marks a transition from an applicant-led to an employer-led process.
The EOI withdrawals will take place on June 21 and 22, 2025, and will affect the following streams:
- Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream
- Employer Job Offer: International Student stream
- Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream

Temporary EOI and System Freeze
From June 20 to July 2, no new EOIs can be submitted under any Employer Job Offer stream. Additionally, all OINP streams will be unavailable between June 27 (after close of business) and June 29, as the system prepares for the new portal launch.
Introducing the Employer Portal
Starting July 2, the new Employer Portal will allow employers to initiate the immigration application process by submitting employment position details directly online. Applicants will then be able to register their EOIs based on employer-submitted information.
The portal will replace the paper-based Application for Approval of an Employment Position and is designed to streamline processing. Key features include:
- Secure document uploads and digital tracking
- Integrated service delivery via My Ontario
- Auto-filled fields to avoid duplication
- Direct communication between employers and OINP
- Role-based access for employer contacts and representatives
What Applicants Should Do
Candidates with existing EOIs affected by the withdrawal will need to re-register their EOIs once employers have submitted position details via the portal. New EOIs will be valid for 12 months and eligible for future draws.
Applicants and employers are advised to prepare ahead of the July 2 launch and monitor OINP communications for further updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which OINP streams will have EOIs withdrawn this weekend?
The Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills streams will all have existing EOIs withdrawn on June 21 and 22, 2025.
Why is OINP withdrawing EOIs now?
Ontario is transitioning to a new Employer Portal launching July 2, 2025. The withdrawals are necessary to align existing EOIs with the new employer-led process.
Can I register a new EOI before July 2?
No. From June 20 to July 2, new EOI registrations for Employer Job Offer streams are not allowed. Registration will reopen once the portal launches.
What should I do if my EOI is withdrawn?
You should wait for your employer to submit employment details through the new portal. After that, you can re-register your EOI, which will be valid for 12 months.
Will this affect other OINP streams?
Yes. Between June 27 and June 29, the system will be down for all OINP streams. During that period, no one can access, register, or submit applications.
