the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/international-mobility-program\"><span class=\"s3\">International Mobility Program<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(IMP).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It all comes down to whether or not the particular job is one of the many exempt from a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/labour-market-impact-assessments-lmias-canada\"><span class=\"s3\">Labour Market Impact Assessment<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(LMIA).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">That\u2019s a document issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) which shows there is both a need for a foreign worker to fill a job and also that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jobs that do not require a\u00a0LMIA\u00a0are generally those that:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">are included in an international trade accord;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">are part of an accord between the federal government and a provincial\/territorial government, or;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">jobs that are deemed in the best interests of Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">There are two ways to determine whether a particular position falls under one of the many\u00a0LMIA\u00a0exemptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Employers can either:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">review the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/publications-manuals\/operational-bulletins-manuals\/temporary-residents\/foreign-workers\/exemption-codes.html\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s3\">LMIA\u00a0exemption codes\u00a0<\/span><\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/corporate\/publications-manuals\/operational-bulletins-manuals\/temporary-residents\/foreign-workers\/work-without-permit.html\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s3\">work permit exemptions<\/span><\/a>, select the\u00a0LMIA\u00a0exemption or work permit code that seems most relevant to their hiring situation and read the detailed description to see if an exemption code applies to them, or:<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">contact the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/immigration-refugees-citizenship\/services\/work-canada\/hire-temporary-foreign\/international-mobility-workers-unit.html\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s3\">International Mobility Workers Unit (IMWU)\u00a0<\/span><\/a>if they are hiring a temporary foreign worker who is both currently outside Canada and from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/visit\/visas.asp\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s3\">a\u00a0country whose nationals are visa-exempt<\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">Global Talent Streams Aims For 2-Week Processing<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-work-permit-global-talent-stream\"><span class=\"s3\">Global Talent Stream\u00a0<\/span><\/a>(GTS), a part of the (TFWP), can lead to the granting of Canadian work permits and processing of visa applications within two weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Employers can also bring in foreign nationals to fill available positions through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-express-entry-immigration\"><span class=\"s3\">Express\u00a0Entry\u00a0system<\/span><\/a>, which receives immigration applications online.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Applicants who meet eligibility criteria submit an online profile known as an Expression of interest (EOI), under one of three federal immigration programs or a participating provincial immigration program, to the\u00a0Express\u00a0Entry\u00a0Pool.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The candidates\u2019 profiles then are ranked against each other according to a points-based system called the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\"><span class=\"s3\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(CRS). The highest-ranked candidates are considered for ITAs for permanent residence.
