{"id":96070,"date":"2022-03-02T15:34:55","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T20:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-invites-1047-pnp-candidates-in-new-express-entry-draw"},"modified":"2022-03-02T15:36:44","modified_gmt":"2022-03-02T20:36:44","slug":"canada-invites-1047-pnp-candidates-in-new-express-entry-draw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-invites-1047-pnp-candidates-in-new-express-entry-draw\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Invites 1,047 PNP Candidates In New Express Entry Draw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Canada has conducted a new Provincial Nominee Program <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-2018\"><span class=\"s1\">Express Entry<\/span><\/a> draw, issuing 1,047 <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\"><span class=\"s1\">Invitations to Apply<\/span><\/a> (ITAs).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The March 2 draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 761 points, 51 higher than the previous PNP draw.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is continuing to avoid conducting all-program draws, the last of which took place in December 2020. It says it is focusing on clearing the current significant backlog before it resumes issuing ITAs in larger numbers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Canada has so far issued 4,627 invitations, all to PNP candidates, in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">IRCC issued a record 114,431 ITAs in 2021, all to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP candidates. It beat the previous record of 107,350 set in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">During the coronavirus crisis, IRCC has switched to draws for PNP and CEC candidates, to focus on candidates already in Canada on work or study permits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The latest draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on January 5, 2022 at 10.22am EST. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This was the fifth round of invitations under\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-2018\"><span class=\"s1\">Express Entry<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in 2022 and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-draws\"><span class=\"s1\">216<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> overall<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">What is Express Entry?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Express Entry is an immigration system implemented by Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC) on January 1, 2015 which manages skilled worker applications under Federal Economic programs. This includes the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/travailleurs-qualifies-vue-densemble\"><span class=\"s1\">Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/span><\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/programme-des-travailleurs-de-metiers-specialises\"><span class=\"s1\">Federal Skilled Trades Program\u00a0<\/span><\/a>the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/categorie-de-lexperience-canadienne\"><span class=\"s1\">Canada Experience Class<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and parts of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/appercu-des-programmes-des-candidats-des-provinces\"><span class=\"s1\">Provincial Nomination Programs<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Stakeholders expect to see continued high numbers of invitations issued as Canada builds towards its <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-to-dramatically-increase-immigration-to-more-than-400000-per-year\"><span class=\"s1\">target of 411,000 new permanent residents in 202<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">2.<\/span> CRS scores remain difficult to predict with program-specific draws during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">With the coronavirus crisis striking in March 2020, Canada switched to program-specific draws aimed at Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates.
