{"id":95191,"date":"2021-11-17T15:06:24","date_gmt":"2021-11-17T20:06:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/nova-scotia-adds-restaurant-occupations-in-demand-to-fast-track-canada-immigration-stream"},"modified":"2021-11-17T15:06:24","modified_gmt":"2021-11-17T20:06:24","slug":"nova-scotia-adds-restaurant-occupations-in-demand-to-fast-track-canada-immigration-stream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/nova-scotia-adds-restaurant-occupations-in-demand-to-fast-track-canada-immigration-stream\/","title":{"rendered":"Nova Scotia Adds Restaurant Occupations In Demand To Fast-Track Canada Immigration Stream"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/nova-scotia-immigration\">Nova Scotia<\/a><\/span> is looking to help restaurant business owners by adding three new jobs to its Occupations In-Demand Canada immigration stream.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The province\u2019s department for Labour, Skills and Immigration, announced on Wednesday that the following jobs would be added to the fast-track permanent residence pathway:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 6513 (Food and beverage servers).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 6711 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 6731 (Light duty cleaners).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">The change means a <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/labour-market-impact-assessments-lmias-canada\"><span class=\"s1\">Labour Market Impact Assessment<\/span><\/a> is no longer needed to hire foreign workers in these occupations. These changes will help these industries hire the workers they need to prepare for a busy tourism season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The new jobs join the existing ones targeted by the stream, namely:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 7511 (Transport truck drivers).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 7521 (Heavy equipment operators (except crane)).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>NOC 7611 (Construction trades helpers and labourers).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Full requirements for the Occupations In Demand Stream are outlined below.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" id=\"mcetoc_1fknnp2v40\">Nova Scotia Occupations in Demand Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>Full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in:\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 6513 (Food and beverage servers).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 6711 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 6731 (Light duty cleaners).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 7511 (Transport truck drivers).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 7521 (Heavy equipment operators (except crane)).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s5\"><\/span>NOC 7611 (Construction trades helpers and labourers).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>One year of work experience related to the job.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>Be aged 21 to 55.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>High school diploma.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>Appropriate training, skills and\/or accreditation for the job.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>Prove language ability equal to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4 even if your first language is English or French.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s2\"><\/span>Show financial resources to successfully settle in Nova Scotia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" id=\"mcetoc_1fknnp5481\">Immigration to Fuel Nova Scotia\u2019s Economic Recovery<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Population growth fuelled primarily by immigration is expected to help Nova Scotia\u2019s economy recover this year as the COVID-19 crisis subsides.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cNova Scotia\u2019s recovery should be helped by improved population growth, which in turn will benefit from higher federal immigration targets and the decision to make the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/atlantic-immigration-pilot-proves-worth-in-retaining-atlantic-canada-immigrants\"><span class=\"s1\">Atlantic Immigration Pilot<\/span><\/a>\u00a0program permanent,\u201d noted TD Economics in their annual economic forecast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cPopulation growth has been central to the province\u2019s improved economic performance in recent years and has even held up relatively well thus far.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The bank\u2019s chief economist Beata Caranci, deputy chief economist Derek Burleton, and economists Rishi Sondhi and Omar Abdelrahman predict the Nova Scotia economy will grow by 4.2 per cent this year and 2.4 per cent in 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">That is lower than the forecasted average economic growth of 4.9 per cent for this year and 3.8 per cent in 2022 for Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A return to more normal levels of immigration, which would drive population growth, is considered to be essential for Nova Scotia\u2019s economic recovery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As the global pandemic and the border restrictions imposed to slow the spread of COVID-19 crippled economies throughout the world, they also slowed immigration to Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada\u2019s figures for last year show 53.8 per cent fewer foreign nationals became new permanent Canadian citizens in Nova Scotia last year, only 4,075, compared to 7,580 in 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nova Scotia is looking to help restaurant business owners by adding three new jobs to its Occupations In-Demand Canada immigration stream.
