{"id":95159,"date":"2022-01-05T15:39:14","date_gmt":"2022-01-05T20:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-issues-392-express-entry-invites-to-pnp-candidates-in-first-draw-of-2022"},"modified":"2022-01-05T15:39:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-05T20:39:14","slug":"canada-issues-392-express-entry-invites-to-pnp-candidates-in-first-draw-of-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-issues-392-express-entry-invites-to-pnp-candidates-in-first-draw-of-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Issues 392 Express Entry Invites To PNP Candidates In First Draw Of 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Canada has issued <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\">Invitations to Apply<\/a> (ITAs) to 392 Provincial Nominee Program candidates in its first <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-2018\">Express Entry<\/a> draw of 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The January 5 draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 808 points, 88 higher than the previous PNP draw.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It sees <\/span>Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continue to avoid conducting all-program draws, the last of which took place in December 2020.<\/p>\n<p>IRCC issued a record 114,431 ITAs in 2021, all to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP candidates. It beat the previous record of 107,350 set in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>During the coronavirus crisis, IRCC has switched to draws for PNP and CEC candidates, to focus on candidates already in Canada on work or study permits.<\/p>\n<p>The latest draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on March 4, 2021<span> at 12.57pm EST<\/span>. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first round of invitations under\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-2018\">Express Entry<\/a><\/span>\u00a0in 2021 and\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-draws\">213<sup>th<\/sup> overall<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1folv28uv2\">What is Express Entry?<\/h3>\n<p>Express Entry is an immigration system implemented by Canadian immigration authorities (IRCC) on January 1, 2015 which manages skilled worker applications under Federal Economic programs. This includes the\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/travailleurs-qualifies-vue-densemble\">Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a><\/span>, the\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/programme-des-travailleurs-de-metiers-specialises\">Federal Skilled Trades Program\u00a0<\/a><\/span>the\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/categorie-de-lexperience-canadienne\">Canada Experience Class<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and parts of the\u00a0<span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/appercu-des-programmes-des-candidats-des-provinces\">Provincial Nomination Programs<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholders expect to see continued high numbers of invitations issued as Canada builds towards its <span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-to-dramatically-increase-immigration-to-more-than-400000-per-year\">target of 411,000 new permanent residents in 202<\/a><\/span><span>2.<\/span> CRS scores remain difficult to predict with program-specific draws during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n<p>With the coronavirus crisis striking in March 2020, Canada switched to program-specific draws aimed at Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates.
