invitations to apply to 132 skilled worker and entrepreneur Canada immigration candidates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The January 20 draw saw invitations issued through the Labour Impact, Express Entry and Business Impact <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/immigration-ile-du-prince-edouard\"><span class=\"s1\">Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program<\/span><\/a> (PEI PNP) streams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">It saw 121 invites issued to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, while Business Impact candidates received 11 invitations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Business Impact candidates href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/prince-edward-island-immigration-draws\"><span class=\"s1\">Expression of Interest system<\/span><\/a> at the start of 2018, and has made monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/prince-edward-island-immigration-draws\"><span class=\"s1\">draws<\/span><\/a> ever since, with some disruption due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<hr allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\">PEI issued a total of 1,933 invites during 2021, compared to 1,955 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Of the 2021 invites, 1,764 went to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, with the remaining 169 going to Business Impact candidates.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1fpv44rek3\" class=\"p1\">Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">PEI\u2019s Express Entry category operates by considering candidates already in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/express-entry-immigration-2018\"><span class=\"s1\">federal Express Entry Pool<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Such a nomination adds 600 points to a candidate\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\"><span class=\"s1\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score and effectively guarantees an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\"><span class=\"s1\">Invitation to Apply<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(ITA) for Canadian immigration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The PEI Express Entry Category features two pathways to Canadian permanent residence, one for candidates with a job offer and one for those without.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1fpv44p0b2\" class=\"p1\">Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>1) Skilled Worker Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This employer driven stream allows skilled workers with an employment offer in PEI to be nominated for Canadian Permanent residence if they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">A full time employment offer from a Prince Edward Island business in an occupation classified as skill level \u201c0\u201d, \u201cA\u201d or \u201cB\u201d of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Completion of a post-secondary education, with a minimum of 14 years of formal education;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">At least 2 years of full time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sufficient proficiency in English or French to occupy the employment offered;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sufficient settlement funds;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>2) Critical Worker Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This category is designed to resolve labour shortages and is open to foreign workers already in PEI with employment in specific critical demand occupations. The primary criteria for nomination are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">A full time offer of employment from a Prince Edward Island business in one of the following occupations:\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Truck driver;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Customer service representative;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Labourer;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Food &amp; beverage server;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Housekeeping attendant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">6 months of work experience with the Prince Edward Island business offering employment;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Current valid Canadian work permit;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">High school diploma and minimum of 12 years of formal education;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">At least 2 years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Demonstrate basic proficiency in English or French language;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sufficient settlement funds;<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1fpv44mr21\" class=\"p1\">Prince Edward Island Business Impact Category<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Work Permit Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Individuals applying under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/prince-edward-island-work-permit-business-immigration\"><span class=\"s1\">P.E.I. Work Permit Stream<\/span><\/a>\u00a0must obtain a Canadian work permit and work for a P.E.I. business for a certain amount of time as designated in a Performance Agreement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After the Performance Agreement is fulfilled, the applicant must make a minimum $150,000 investment in the business and commit to managing the business on a daily basis from within P.E.I.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Previously, Prince Edward Island operated direct permanent residence business streams, but these were closed in September 2018 over immigration fraud concerns.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prince Edward Island has conducted its first provincial draw of 2022, issuing invitations to apply to 132 skilled worker and entrepreneur Canada immigration candidates.
