A MIFI statement said the suspensions were in place because of potential dubious practices used to recruit foreign students.<\/p>\n<p>However, following a legal challenge by C\u00e9gep de la Gasp\u00e9sie et des \u00celes \u2013 one of the institutions on the list \u2013 the Quebec Superior Court ruled on January 11 that the processing and receipt of applications should resume.<\/p>\n<p>MIFI said that while the court found the department&rsquo;s mistrust of certain institutions not unreasonable, \u201cthe suspension constitutes a significant inconvenience for these students. who organized their lives in order to study in Quebec this winter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 10 institutions are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>M College of Canada<\/li>\n<li>Matrix College of Management, Technology and Healthcare;<\/li>\n<li>Canada College inc.;<\/li>\n<li>Herzing College (Institute);<\/li>\n<li>CDE College;<\/li>\n<li>Montr\u00e9al College of Information Technology;<\/li>\n<li>Institut sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019informatique (ISI);<\/li>\n<li>Universel College \u2013 Gatineau Campus;<\/li>\n<li>Coll\u00e8ge CDI;<\/li>\n<li>Montr\u00e9al Campus of C\u00e9gep de la Gasp\u00e9sie et des \u00celes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Read More<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebec-suspends-study-permit-applications-for-10-specific-colleges\">Quebec Suspends Study Permit Applications For 10 Specific Colleges<\/a><\/span><span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebec-issues-233-invitations-in-new-arrima-expression-of-interest-draw\">Quebec Issues 233 Invitations In New Arrima Expression of Interest Draw<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/quebec-gives-work-permit-break-to-international-students-whose-study-permits-expire-this-year\">Quebec Gives Work Permit Break To International Students Whose Study Permits Expire This Year<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1eruf1o700\">Certain International Students Allowed To Start Work<\/h3>\n<p>Meanwhile, Quebec allowed certain international students who completed their programs to start work while their application for a <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/post-graduation-work-permit\"><span>Post-Graduation Work Permit<\/span><\/a> (PGWP) is being processed.<\/p>\n<p>The right to start work is specifically for International students whose Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-student-visa\"><span>study permit<\/span><\/a> expired on December 31, 2020 after being automatically extended due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>These students were allowed apply for the PGWP and start work even if they had not yet received all of the documentation indicating they had completed their undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n<p>The application for the PGWP had to be submitted to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before the end of 2020 with a letter explaining in detail:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>The reason they were submitting an incomplete application.<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>The fact that their CAQ and study permit were automatically extended due to COVID-19.<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>If applicable, the changes that occurred in their studies due to COVID-19.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Quebec\u2019s immigration department has lifted its suspension of applications to 10 specific learning institutions for the Foreign Student Program, following a Superior Court ruling.
