\nQuebec has temporarily suspended the receipt and processing of study permit<\/span><\/a> applications for 10 specific learning institutions through the Foreign Student Program.<\/p>\n

The decision, announced December 30, focuses on 10 colleges currently being audited or investigated by the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), says a statement posted on the website of the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI).<\/p>\n

New applications for temporary selection for studies are suspended, as well as processing of applications already submitted.<\/p>\n

The 10 institutions are:<\/p>\n

  1. M College of Canada<\/li>\n
  2. Matrix College of Management, Technology and Healthcare;<\/li>\n
  3. Canada College inc.;<\/li>\n
  4. Herzing College (Institute);<\/li>\n
  5. CDE College;<\/li>\n
  6. Montr\u00e9al College of Information Technology;<\/li>\n
  7. Institut sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019informatique (ISI);<\/li>\n
  8. Universel College \u2013 Gatineau Campus;<\/li>\n
  9. Coll\u00e8ge CDI;<\/li>\n
  10. Montr\u00e9al Campus of C\u00e9gep de la Gasp\u00e9sie et des \u00celes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The suspensions will remain until March 31, 2021, MIFI says.<\/p>\n

    \u201cThis decision has no repercussions on foreign students currently studying at those institutions and who hold a valid Quebec Acceptance Certificate and study permit,\u201d MIFI added.<\/p>\n

    Certain International Students Allowed To Start Work<\/h3>\n

    Meanwhile, Quebec allowed certain international students who completed their programs to start work while their application for a Post-Graduation Work Permit<\/span><\/a> (PGWP) is being processed.<\/p>\n

    The right to start work is specifically for International students whose Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and study permit<\/span><\/a> expired on December 31, 2020 after being automatically extended due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

    These students were allowed apply for the PGWP and start work even if they had not yet received all of the documentation indicating they had completed their undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n

    The application for the PGWP had to be submitted to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before the end of 2020 with a letter explaining in detail:<\/p>\n
