Newfoundland & Labrador immigration has changed the requirements for its International Graduate Category.<\/p>\n

The Newfoundland & Labrador Provincial Nominee Program<\/span><\/a> (NLPNP) changes were announced on December 10, 2020.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the changes, candidates must have a job offer in National Occupational Classification 0, A or B, of from NOC C provided it is on the province\u2019s In-Demand Occupations List.<\/p>\n

Candidates who completed their studies in Canada but outside Newfoundland must have a job offer directly related to their field of study.<\/p>\n

Only those who studied at Memorial University or College of the North Atlantic can qualify with a job offer not related to their field of study, provided they have skills, experience, or training in the position, among other requirements (see below).<\/p>\n

The International Graduate Category is for recent graduates who have a Post-Graduate Work Permit<\/span><\/a> (PGWP) with at least four months of validity remaining.<\/p>\n

International Graduate Category: New Requirements in Full<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • <\/span>Have a PGWP with at least 4 months of validity remaining.<\/li>\n
  • <\/span>Have a full-time job or job offer from an eligible employer in\u00a0NOC 0, A or B, or in an NOC C occupation on the In-Demand Occupation list that guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week and is of at least one year in duration with a reasonable expectation of extension.<\/li>\n
  • <\/span>Have a job offer that is either:\n
      \n
    • <\/span>Directly related to the field of study if the applicant completed their studies outside of Newfoundland & Labrador (out-of-province graduates must work for a minimum of one year in Newfoundland & Labrador before applying), OR<\/li>\n
    • <\/span>Not directly related to the field of study provided the applicant is a graduate of Memorial University or College of the North Atlantic and meets the following criteria:\n
        \n
      1. <\/span>Requires a post-secondary degree or diploma.<\/li>\n
      2. <\/span>Can reasonably be expected to lead to career advancement.<\/li>\n
      3. <\/span>Is in a field in which the applicant has a combination of skill, experience and\/or training in the last 5 years.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      4. <\/span>Be 21 to 59-years-old.<\/li>\n
      5. <\/span>Intend to settle permanently in Newfoundland & Labrador.<\/li>\n
      6. <\/span>Have sufficient settlement funds.<\/li>\n
      7. <\/span>Have sufficient English or French language capability to perform the employment duties.\u00a0Language testing is required for NOC C, In-Demand occupations.<\/li>\n
