{"id":81172,"date":"2020-11-05T12:42:55","date_gmt":"2020-11-05T17:42:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigrationca.staging.wpengine.com\/canada-issues-another-4500-invitations-in-new-express-entry-draw"},"modified":"2021-05-10T23:18:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T03:18:35","slug":"canada-issues-another-4500-invitations-in-new-express-entry-draw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-issues-another-4500-invitations-in-new-express-entry-draw\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Issues Another 4,500 Invitations In New Express Entry Draw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada has equalled the largest <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/express-entry-immigration-2018\/\"><span>Express Entry<\/span><\/a><span> <\/span>draw of all time for a second consecutive draw, issuing <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\/\"><span>Invitations to Apply<\/span><\/a> to 4,500 candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The November 5 draw required a minimum <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\/\"><span>Comprehensive Ranking System<\/span><\/a> (CRS) score of 478 points, seven points higher than the previous all-program draw.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first draw since Canada\u2019s federal government published <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-to-dramatically-increase-immigration-to-more-than-400000-per-year\"><span>a new plan that will see immigration increase to more than 400,000 newcomers a year from 2021<\/span><\/a>. Ottawa believes immigration can spur Canada\u2019s economic recovery after the coronavirus crisis.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/ITAs-Issued-In-Last-10-Express-Entry-Draws-.png\" alt=\"ITAs Issued In Last 10 Express Entry Draws\" width=\"513\" height=\"335\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-81185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/ITAs-Issued-In-Last-10-Express-Entry-Draws-.png 765w, https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/ITAs-Issued-In-Last-10-Express-Entry-Draws--300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/ITAs-Issued-In-Last-10-Express-Entry-Draws--280x183.png 280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>It was also the first draw since Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) moved to <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-increases-express-entry-points-for-french-speaking-and-bilingual-candidates\"><span>increase the points available for French speaking and bilingual candidates<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Canada has now issued 87,350 ITAs so far in 2020, after issuing a total of 85,300 in 2019. The record for annual Express Entry ITAs was set in 2018 at 89,800. This includes the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/skilled-worker-immigration-overview\/\"><span>Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/span><\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/federal-skilled-trades-program\/\"><span>Federal Skilled Trades Program\u00a0<\/span><\/a>the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/the-canada-experience-class-2\/\"><span>Canada Experience Class<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and parts of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-provincial-nominee-immigration-programs-overview\/\"><span>Provincial Nomination Programs<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholders expect to see continued high numbers of invitations issued as Canada builds towards its <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-to-dramatically-increase-immigration-to-more-than-400000-per-year\"><span>target of more than 400,000 new permanent residents in 2021<\/span><\/a>, with a majority of draws featuring CRS scores around\u00a0470.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>With the coronavirus crisis striking in March, Canada switch to program-specific draws aimed at Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates.
