{"id":81131,"date":"2020-11-03T16:48:25","date_gmt":"2020-11-03T21:48:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigrationca.staging.wpengine.com\/north-bay-ontario-reveals-community-requirements-for-rural-northern-immigration-pilot"},"modified":"2021-05-10T23:18:37","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T03:18:37","slug":"north-bay-ontario-reveals-community-requirements-for-rural-northern-immigration-pilot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/north-bay-ontario-reveals-community-requirements-for-rural-northern-immigration-pilot\/","title":{"rendered":"North Bay, Ontario Reveals Community Requirements For Rural &#038; Northern Immigration Pilot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>North Bay in Ontario has become the 11<span><sup>th<\/sup><\/span> and final community to begin the process of accepting applications for the <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/rural-and-northern-immigration-pilot\"><span>Rural &amp; Northern Immigration Pilot<\/span><\/a> (RNIP).<\/p>\n<p>A new website has been launched and community-specific criteria published for applicants looking to qualify for Canadian permanent residence through the program.<\/p>\n<p>As well as meeting federal government criteria, candidates must have a job offer from a local employers and experience in the position being offered.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates who meet the initial criteria will then be scored on a number of selection factors, including language ability, age, ties to the area and ability to driver.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The community has also published a list of National Occupational Classification codes that qualify for the program.<\/p>\n<p>A full list of both community and federal requirements is included below.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Read More<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/claresholm-population-3800-receives-5000-applications-for-rural-northern-immigration-pilot\">Claresholm, Population 3,800, Receives 5,000 Applications For Rural &amp; Northern Immigration Pilot<\/a><\/span><span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/vernon-british-columbia-launches-application-process-for-rural-and-northern-immigration-pilot\">Vernon, British Columbia Launches Application Process For Rural And Northern Immigration Pilot<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/rural-and-northern-immigration-pilot-brandon-manitoba-begins-accepting-applications\">Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot: Brandon, Manitoba Begins Accepting Applications<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The RNIP is designed to help bring new skilled worker immigrants to smaller communities.<\/p>\n<p>The five-year federal immigration pilot is designed to help smaller communities with aging populations and labour shortages, which struggle to attract and retain new immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>It is a community-driven program that aims to spread out the benefit of immigration.<\/p>\n<p>To be included in the pilot, communities must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>Have a population of 50,000 or less and be located at least 75km from the core of a Census Metropolitan Area, OR<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Have a population of up to 200,000 people and be considered remote from other larger cities, according to the Statistics Canada Remoteness Index.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Steps to Permanent Residence<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Candidates must check they meet both the federal government eligibility requirements and community-specific requirements (see below).<\/li>\n<li>Find an eligible job with an employer in one of the participating communities (listed below).<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with a job offer can submit an application for recommendation to the community.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates with a community recommendation can apply for permanent residence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1em80ngl25\">North Bay RNIP: Candidate Eligibility Criteria<\/h3>\n<p><b>A candidate must:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span>Meet all the federal eligibility criteria (see below).<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Have a genuine job offer in one of the targeted NOC codes (see below).<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span>Have enough past work experience to effectively work in the job specified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1em80nevf4\">North Bay RNIP: Candidate Recommendation Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>Once a candidate has met the eligibility criteria, they will be scored on the following factors, with the highest-scoring candidates receiving invitations to apply. The invitations may also be limited based on the NOC code groups.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>English and\/or French language skills.<\/li>\n<li>Age.<\/li>\n<li>Possession of valid driver\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Past residence in, and level of familiarity with, rural and remote communities.<\/li>\n<li>Familial or friendship ties to an established member of the community.<\/li>\n<li>Exploratory visit for at least five nights.<\/li>\n<li>Work experience related to the job being offered.<\/li>\n<li>Current work for an employer who has provided the employment offer.<\/li>\n<li>Current employment in North Bay.<\/li>\n<li>Education at a public post-secondary institution in North Bay.<\/li>\n<li>Temporary status in the community.<\/li>\n<li>Spouse or common-law partner\u2019s adaptability factors:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>a) Work experience in one of the NOC groups.<\/p>\n<p>b) Valid job offer from a North Bay employer.<\/p>\n<p>c) Language ability in first and second official language.<\/p>\n<p>d) Current or previous education at a public post-secondary institution in North Bay.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1em80nc6o3\">North Bay RNIP: Qualifying NOC Codes<\/h3>\n<p><b>Healthcare and Social Work<\/b><\/p>\n<p>NOC 3012: Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses<br \/>\nNOC 3413: Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates<br \/>\nNOC 3233: Licensed practical nurses<br \/>\nNOC 3112: General practitioners and family physicians<br \/>\nNOC 4152: Social Workers<br \/>\nNOC 4214: Early childhood educators and assistants<br \/>\nNOC 4212: Social and community service workers<br \/>\nNOC 4412: Home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations<br \/>\nNOC 3111: Specialist Physicians<\/p>\n<p><b>Trades (licensed or unlicensed)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>NOC 7312: Heavy duty equipment mechanics<br \/>\nNOC 7321: Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers<br \/>\nNOC 7311: Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics<br \/>\nNOC 7611: Construction trades helpers and laborers<br \/>\nNOC 7237: Welders and related machine operators<br \/>\nNOC 7271: Carpenters<br \/>\nNOC 7241: Electricians<br \/>\nNOC 7251: Plumbers<br \/>\nNOC 7511: Transport Truck Drivers<br \/>\nNOC 7521: Heavy equipment operators<br \/>\nNOC 7535: Other transport equipment operators and related maintenance workers<\/p>\n<p><b>Business Administration<\/b><\/p>\n<p>NOC 111: Auditors, accountants and investment professionals<br \/>\nNOC 121 Administrative services supervisors<br \/>\nNOC 1311: Accounting technicians and bookkeepers<\/p>\n<p><b>Information Technology<\/b><\/p>\n<p>NOC 0213: Computer and information systems managers<br \/>\nNOC 2147: Computer Engineers<br \/>\nNOC 2171: Information systems analysts and consultants<br \/>\nNOC 2172: Database analysts and data administrators<br \/>\nNOC 2173: Software engineers and designers<\/p>\n<p><b>Open NOC (max of 10 applicants)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>High skill level occupations such as engineers, aviation technicians, pilots, architecture, legal, supervisors in call centres and chefs are examples of jobs being considered under the Open NOC.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>North Bay is one of 11 communities that have now launched their RNIP application processes.<\/p>\n<p>The others are Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste.
