{"id":80595,"date":"2020-10-14T11:48:52","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T15:48:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/immigrationca.staging.wpengine.com\/canada-invites-4500-express-entry-candidates-equalling-ita-record"},"modified":"2021-05-10T23:26:17","modified_gmt":"2021-05-11T03:26:17","slug":"canada-invites-4500-express-entry-candidates-equalling-ita-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/fr\/canada-invites-4500-express-entry-candidates-equalling-ita-record\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Invites 4,500 Express Entry Candidates, Equalling ITA Record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Canada has equalled the largest <\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/express-entry-immigration-2018\/\">Express Entry<\/a><\/span> <span>draw of all time, issuing <\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\/\">Invitations to Apply<\/a><\/span><span> to 4,500 candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The October 14 draw required a minimum <\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\/\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a><\/span><span> (CRS) score of 471 points, exactly the same as the previous all-program draw.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In the last four Express Entry draws, Canada has now issued 17,100 ITAs.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/ITAs-Issued-by-This-Stage-of-Each-Year.png\" alt=\"ITAs Issued by This Stage of Each Year\" width=\"458\" height=\"276\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/ITAs-Issued-by-This-Stage-of-Each-Year.png 458w, https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/ITAs-Issued-by-This-Stage-of-Each-Year-300x181.png 300w, https:\/\/immigration.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/ITAs-Issued-by-This-Stage-of-Each-Year-280x169.png 280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 458px) 100vw, 458px\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span>By issuing such a large number of ITAs in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), is sending a clear message regarding Canada\u2019s commitment to immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Canada has now issued 82,850 ITAs so far in 2020, after issuing a total of 85,300 in 2019. The record for annual Express Entry ITAs was set in 2018 at 89,800. However, it is likely that permanent resident admissions will be affected by the COVID-19 crisis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The latest draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on September 1, 2020 at 8.11am EST. This includes the\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/skilled-worker-immigration-overview\/\">Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a><\/span><span>, the\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/federal-skilled-trades-program\/\">Federal Skilled Trades Program\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span>the\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/the-canada-experience-class-2\/\">Canada Experience Class<\/a><\/span><span>\u00a0and parts of the\u00a0<\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-provincial-nominee-immigration-programs-overview\/\">Provincial Nomination Programs<\/a><\/span><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Stakeholders expected to see near 30 draws and more than 80,000 invitations issued in 2020, with a majority of draws featuring CRS scores around\u00a0470\u00a0to enable Canadian immigration authorities to meet <\/span><span><a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/canada-to-welcome-350000-immigrants-annually-by-2021\/\">targeted\u00a0annual immigration levels for 2020<\/a><\/span><span>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>With the coronavirus crisis striking in March, Canada switch to program-specific draws aimed at Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program candidates.
