They include 282 Express Entry and Labour Impact invites and 23 Business Impact candidates.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>PEI launched its <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/prince-edward-island-immigration-draws\">Expression of Interest system<\/a> at the start of 2018 and has made monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/prince-edward-island-immigration-draws\">draws<\/a> ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The next draw is planned for June 18, although this will depend on how the coronavirus crisis develops.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e8sdmsem0\">Anticipated 2020 Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest Draw Dates<\/h3>\n<p><span>June 18<br \/>\nJuly 16<br \/>\nAugust 20<br \/>\nSeptember 17<br \/>\nOctober 15<br \/>\nNovember 19<br \/>\nDecember 17<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e8sdn4kc1\">Video: How PNP Immigrants Can Move Anywhere in Canada<\/h3>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JTobchIUqnk\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span>PEI issued a total of 1,629 invites during 2019. Of these, 1,436 went to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, with the remaining 193 going to Business Impact candidates.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e8sdnt882\">Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream<\/h3>\n<p><span>PEI\u2019s Express Entry category operates by considering candidates already in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/express-entry-immigration-2018\/\">federal Express Entry Pool<\/a>\u00a0for a provincial nomination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Such a nomination adds 600 points to a candidate\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>\u00a0(CRS) score and effectively guarantees an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\">Invitation to Apply<\/a>\u00a0(ITA) for Canadian immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The PEI Express Entry Category features two pathways to Canadian permanent residence, one for candidates with a job offer and one for those without.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e8sdo4v53\">Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category<\/h3>\n<p><span><b>1) Skilled Worker Stream<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This employer-driven stream allows skilled workers with an employment offer in PEI to be nominated for Canadian Permanent residence if they meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span><span>A full-time employment offer from a Prince Edward Island business in an occupation classified as skill level \u201c0\u201d, \u201cA\u201d or \u201cB\u201d of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Completion of post-secondary education, with a minimum of 14 years of formal education;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>At least 2 years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Sufficient proficiency in English or French to occupy the employment offered;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Sufficient settlement funds;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><b>2) Critical Worker Stream<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This category is designed to resolve labour shortages and is open to foreign workers already in PEI with employment in specific critical demand occupations. The primary criteria for nomination are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span><span>A full-time offer of employment from a Prince Edward Island business in one of the following occupations:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Truck driver;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Customer service representative;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Labourer;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Food &amp; beverage server;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Housekeeping attendant.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>6 months of work experience with the Prince Edward Island business offering employment;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Current valid Canadian work permit;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>High school diploma and minimum of 12 years of formal education;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>At least 2 years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Demonstrate basic proficiency in English or French language;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Sufficient settlement funds;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><\/span><span>Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"mcetoc_1e8sdorv44\">Prince Edward Island Business Impact Category<\/h3>\n<p><span><b>Work Permit Stream<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Individuals applying under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/immigration.ca\/prince-edward-island-work-permit-business-immigration\/\">P.E.I. Work Permit Stream<\/a>\u00a0must obtain a Canadian work permit and work for a P.E.I. business for a certain amount of time as designated in a Performance Agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After the Performance Agreement is fulfilled, the applicant must make a minimum $150,000 investment in the business and commit to managing the business on a daily basis from within P.E.I.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Previously, Prince Edward Island operated direct permanent residence business streams, but these were closed in September 2018 over immigration fraud concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prince Edward Island has leveraged the PEI PNP to help the province in the fight against coronavirus.
